Company Background and Activities

MD Supply is located in Geneva, Switzerland, in the heart of Europe, offering easy access, outstanding research and development facilities as well as extensive technical support.

MD Supply was created in order to finalize a product under development and evolution since 1994. The patented product of this development is a new, simple and reliable medical device for anchoring soft tissues to bone.  

Tests on patients and evaluations were performed during summer 2000. The marketing of the finalized product started in November 2000, with initial sales in February 2001.  

This device, named “SmartAnchor Dual System”, received the “CE 0120 Mark” label in December 2000.  

The production of the “SmartAnchor Dual System” is entirely subcontracted to well established and reputed Swiss industrial partners, specialized in manufacturing high tech components.  

In order to enlarge the field for the existing “SmartAnchor Dual System” , a specially designed working cannula has to be developed and produced : this will enable the use of the “SmartAnchor Dual System” in surgeries based on endoscopic techniques.  

Demand already exists for a mini-version of “SmartAnchor Dual System”, suitable for smaller joints (e.g. hand and foot).  

MD Supply is presently the representative for two other main products :  

• “Sam” : (Super Absorbent Mat) this is a highly absorbent single use mat, mainly used for absorbing liquid from the floor in operating rooms. The absorbing capacity of this product is exceptional : “Sam can absorb approximately 24 litres per square meter.  

• “Rapidex” : Absorbent single use mat, mainly used on operating tables and beds. This product is designed for absorbing liquids during surgical interventions including caesareans, hand surgery, foot surgery, small wounds, incontinence, protection of bed mattress from leaking after operations, etc. 

Progressively, other devices will be added in the portfolio of products distributed by MD Supply.  

The company is also active as a consultant for other medical firms, supporting them in their product and marketing developments.
